Ty is one of UK Black music’s true innovators and popularisers. He’s been making music and pushing boundaries for the last 10 years. With 3 albums, a Mercury Music nomination and countless guest appearances under his belt with the likes of Tony Allen, De La Soul, Damon Albarn, Terri Walker, Scratch Perverts, Pee Wee Ellis, Afro Reggae and Estelle.
A legend in the making.
Ty has long been involved in the spoken word/poetry scene, as well as running workshops in schools and beyond since his pivotal involvement in the mid-90s Ghetto Grammar organisation. Recently performing at Book Slam in West London.
Probably best known for his live shows, Ty has toured all over the world, everywhere from New York to New Zealand and has established a strong fan base wherever he goes.
A self-confessed myspace junkie with a quarter of a million hits and over 30,000 friends.
TY’s a thoughtful, political [appeared on BBC 2’s Daily Politics Show] spokesperson, a man of the people, a producer, musician, MC and poet with a killer sense of humour.
